Kira Levin

Kira joined PIAC as Managing Solicitor of the Homeless Persons’ Legal Service (HPLS) in November 2020 and became Principal Solicitor in 2022. 

As Principal Solicitor of HPLS, Kira directs the service’s work to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and its policy and advocacy work to address the causes of homelessness. 

She also leads HPLS’s Women’s Service, which focuses on providing critical support to women experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and tackling the complex social and economic factors that push women into homelessness.   

Kira began her career as a criminal lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid before moving to Brimbank Melton Community Legal Centre where she established and managed a family violence program. She’s also worked as a criminal lawyer with the Environmental Defenders Office, supporting members of the community charged with offences as a result of their involvement in non-violent civil disobedience. Most recently, she managed and coordinated the community legal education work at Women’s Legal Service, NSW.

Kira has a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.
