‘I was living in a boarding house, I was having issues with alcohol, I missed an appointment with CentreLink, and was breached,’ says StreetCare member, AJ.
‘I sold what I could, gave the rest of my stuff away, and went out on the streets.
‘One of the biggest things that affected me was the psychological impact of stepping out the front door of that boarding house and becoming homeless.’
