The chairman of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART), Rod Sims, addressed the Energy + Water Consumers’ Advocacy Program (EWCAP) conference on 27 June in Sydney.
Mr Sims (pictured) is also the Government’s nominee to replace Graeme Samuel as the new chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
The EWCAP conference, entitled Competition & Consumers, focussed on how varying levels of competition in energy markets contribute to a range of outcomes for consumers.
PIAC launched a new research report at the conference. The report assesses how consumers experience electricity market competition in five NSW rural and regional areas.
