National Human Rights Action Plan Exposure Draft: submission by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre Alternative formats available on request to PIAC - Contact PIAC
In December 2011, the Australian Government released the National Human Rights Action Plan Exposure Draft. The Exposure Draft provides an overview of the policies and programs the Australian Government intends to implement to improve the protection of human rights in Australia. The Australian Government invited public submissions on the Exposure Draft to provide comment on its suggested actions and to identify areas which the Exposure Draft had not addressed.
This submission provides comment on many of the actions currently identified under the Exposure Draft in the areas of Indigenous people, people with a disability, those at risk of or experiencing homelessness and those in prisons and detention.
