Jan Kucic-Riker
Policy Officer, Energy and Water Consumers' Advocacy Program
Jan has been a Policy Officer in PIAC’s Energy and Water Consumers’ Advocacy Program (EWCAP) since May 2022. He works across a range of areas including energy planning, renewables, and climate change policy to ensure people’s needs are met by clean, resilient, and efficient energy and water systems.
Before coming to PIAC, Jan spent four years as a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney’s Environment Institute studying the political economy of Australia’s low-carbon transition. His research focused on the role of clean energy projects in providing income, employment, and empowerment to local communities.
Jan has a Master’s in Environmental Studies (MES) from York University, and a Combined Honour’s (BSc) in Environmental Science and International Development Studies from Dalhousie University.
