Annie Barker

Annie was appointed to the role of Executive Assistant at PIAC in September 2020 and primarily supports the management and executive teams, along with PIAC’s Board of Directors and Committees.  

Annie provides secretariat support to PIAC’s Work Health and Safety Committee and the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, she coordinates staff events and training and contributes to the effective and efficient operation of PIAC.  

Prior to joining PIAC, Annie was the EA with ID. Know Yourself (IDKY), an Aboriginal led mentoring program working with Aboriginal young people in care. She has previously supported the executive team at knowmore legal service, a free, independent legal service providing advice to survivors of institutional child sexual abuse about justice and redress.  

Annie also has a long history as a recruitment specialist working with organisations committed to social justice, recruiting executive and operational roles as well as projects for funded programs.  

Annie participates in causes to support First Nations justice and access to health and education, the release of asylum seekers in detention, and equality for the LGBTIQ community.
