PIAC provided a submission to the Australian Energy Regulator’s Issues Paper for their Review of the Exemption Framework for Embedded Networks.
Embedded networks are a consistent site of poor consumer outcomes and a lack of access to the protections and choice provided to on-supply customers. Reform of the exemptions framework for embedded networks is long overdue and critical to restoring fair, safe, reliable and affordable energy to all energy consumers, regardless of where they live.
In this submission we recommend there can be no further delay in addressing the poor consumer outcomes created by the proliferation of embedded networks.
