PIAC provided a combined submission to AER on the Framework and Approach (F&A) for Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Essential Energy Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs) for the 2024-2028 regulatory control period.
This period will be one of considerable change due to transition in our energy systems. In this submission we argued that decisions relating to the implementation of new technology and services must focus on consumer outcomes, rather than process.
We made recommendations for improving consumer outcomes with particular focus on ownership arrangements of network batteries and stand-alone power systems (SAPS), the provision of temporary SAPS after an emergency and leasing excess battery capacity.
