PIAC responded to the draft NSW Water Strategy consultation.
PIAC broadly supports the structure of the Draft and the important work to provide a much- needed principles-based, strategic approach to water policy in NSW. The efforts to transparently link the strategy to all aspects of water policy is welcome. The structure, setting out core objectives, strategic priorities and the actions required to address them, is also strongly supported.
We reiterated the need for urgent changes to water planning, governance and management, especially in light of increasing climate change.
