Brenda Hollis speaks at PIAC cocktail reception

Last night Henry Davis York and the Public Interest Advocacy Centre hosted a cocktail reception with Brenda Hollis, Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

Around 60 people attended the function, which was held at the law firm Henry Davis York in Sydney.

Ms Hollis, a world-leading expert in international criminal law, spoke about about the role of civil society in international criminal justice.

Ms Hollis spoke powerfully on the horrors of war crimes, and what these crimes involve for the victims.

She emphasised the importance of community organisations working with states and the United Nations to hold accountable those bearing greatest responsibility for international crimes.

PIAC also provided an update on our current investigation into Sri Lanka as part of PIAC’s International Crimes Evidence Project.
