Technology Officer, Truth and Accountability
Erol has been the Technology Officer in PIAC’s Truth and Accountability program since October 2019, having commenced working in the program in April 2017.
He leads the technical design and implementation of the Conflict Mapping and Archive Project, the Towards Truth project, and other projects currently in development. His work involves database and interface design, information management and information analysis.
Previously, Erol has worked as a research assistant to legal academics, as a paralegal at an international law firm, and as an intern at the Australian Embassy in Berlin. He is fluent in German and Turkish.
Erol is a Scientia Scholar at the University of New South Wales, where he is completing his final year of a dual LLB (Hons) and Bachelor of International Studies, placing first in his cohort. He has completed an open source investigations course with the Human Rights Centre at UC Berkeley, as well as intelligence and cybersecurity training.
