Research Assistant, Towards Truth Project
Charisma is a Research Assistant of PIAC’s Truth and Accountability program, assisting specifically with the Towards Truth Project.
Prior to joining PIAC, Charisma was a solicitor at Terri Janke and Company (TJC). TJC is an Indigenous owned and operated law firm, specialising in Commercial law, and leading in the area of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property. Charisma has expertise in legal and policy drafting. She has assisted artists, non-government organisations, galleries and museums.
Charisma was selected as a Trailblazer in the World Intellectual Property Review (PR) Influential Women in IP in 2020. Charisma was also selected by the New South Wales Bar Association Trustee to attend the World Indigenous Law Conference in Canada in 2018.
Charisma is an active board member of ID. Know Yourself. ID. Know Yourself is an Aboriginal-led not for profit mentoring organisation that supports young people In Out of Home Care (foster care) and those who have contact with the Juvenile Justice System. Charisma was admitted as a solicitor in 2019 and holds a Legal Practising Certificate with the Law Society of NSW. She graduated with a BA/LLB from the University of New South Wales, minoring in Indigenous Studies and Majoring in Politics.
