Legal help for women experiencing or at risk of homelessness

WHPS offers free legal assistance and connection to a range of support services at drop-in clinics held at women-only services across Sydney.

Domestic and family violence is the leading cause of homelessness amongst women in Australia. We offer a trauma-informed service that can help women respond to issues related to safety, discrimination, financial problems and housing, which can be a result of family and domestic violence.

Who we help

  • Women who sleep rough.
  • Women who live temporarily with friends or families because of homelessness (eg ‘couch surfing’).
  • Women living in boarding houses, hostels or hotels.
  • Women in public housing or private rental accommodation at risk of losing their home and becoming homeless.
