Help PIAC fight discrimination

Seeking justice for people with disability has been a priority of PIAC’s work for decades. We work closely with people with disability to tackle the many barriers that can deny their full participation in society.

In March this year, Professor Justin Yerbury had hoped to take a cruise with his family on the Explorer of the Seas. But he was denied boarding on the morning of departure because of his disability, motor neurone disease.

Being refused travel was devastating for Professor Yerbury and his family, and with PIAC’s support, he took on Royal Caribbean. When the case settled in September 2019, it was a significant win not just for Professor Yerbury and his family, but also for the many people with disability for whom cruises can offer an accessible holiday option.

This is just one example of the work we have been doing to make a practical difference to people’s lives. You can read more about how we are helping to achieve justice for people with disability, including our work to improve the fairness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Join us in promoting equality and combatting discrimination by making a tax deductable donation as part of our end-of-year appeal to support our work. Regular donations provide more certainty for our work and we would be very grateful if you would consider becoming a regular donor.

From all of us at PIAC, thank you for your support.
