Help PIAC create change

At the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) we take on cases that push the boundaries: seeking justice for our clients while creating real change for people facing disadvantage. We expose and challenge unfair laws, policies and practices and hold decision-makers to account to achieve impact for the community.

We are able to do this successfully thanks to the donations we receive from our supporters. That’s why we are asking you to support our end-of-financial-year appeal.

Achieving Social Justice

In the last financial year, PIAC ran 148 public interest cases on behalf of 129 individuals and organisations, and our Homeless Persons’ Legal Service (HPLS) helped 709 clients at 1344 advice sessions.

You can read more about the difference PIAC is making in some of the areas we work, including: helping people experiencing homelessness achieve stable housing, securing healthcare for immigration detainees, driving change to ensure fair treatment of people with mental health conditions by insurers, exposing the overpolicing of children and Aboriginal people, and fighting for better accessibility for people who are blind or who have low vision.

These highlights show what is possible when we work with our clients and partners across the community with determination, skill, respect and integrity.

How your donation will help

Your tax-deductible donation will help us ensure the sustainability of our vital work to help those who are in urgent need of legal assistance. Regular donations provide more certainty for our work and we would be very grateful if you would consider becoming a regular donor.

From all of us at PIAC, thank you for your support.
