New clinics: Homeless Persons’ Legal Service

‘The Street Life’ by Gemma Lee.

PIAC’s Homeless Persons Legal Service (HPLS) is set to start two new clinics in Kings Cross and Bondi, building on the network of clinics already operating at welfare agencies across Sydney and Newcastle.

HPLS provides free legal advice to people who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness with the support of 460 pro-bono lawyers from some of Australia’s leading law firms. Since its establishment in 2004, HPLS has helped more than 10,000 clients.

Starting on Wednesday, 26 April, in partnership with Macquarie Group and the Wayside Chapel, HPLS will provide free legal advice at the Mob Lunch at the Wayside Chapel, from 12:30pm.

Another new fortnightly clinic will commence at Norman Andrews House in Bondi at 10am on Thursday 4 May. This clinic is presented in partnership with Corrs Chambers Westgarth and the Wayside Chapel.

All HPLS clinic times and locations are available here. For more information about our clinics call (02) 8898 6545.
