In August 2016, the Guardian published more than 2100 incident reports from Nauru’s immigration regional processing centre, which included reports and allegations of sexual abuse on women and children, assaults of children, widespread mental harm and epidemic rates of self-harm and suicide attempts, among other complaints and reports of lack of medical and mental health care.
