Over the next two weeks PIAC is hosting sixteen law students from the University of Sydney, as part of Social Justice Clinical Summer Course (SJCSC) program.
The course gives final-year law students the opportunity to gain on-the-job experience with real-world cases and participate in a structured seminar program dealing with social justice issues and public interest law.
The program began with four days of seminars and today is the first of 12 days of clinical placement. Students are engaged in tasks in legal research, writing, comparative analysis and advocacy strategy preparation.
Last night they enjoyed some ‘Socratic learning’ and drinks with Dr Peter Cashman.
