Great job opportunity – international human rights

PIAC is seeking a human rights specialist to lead the International Crimes Evidence Project (ICEP), which works to promote accountability for serious human rights violations occurring in conflicts in the Asia Pacific, and especially Sri Lanka. The contract is for twelve months, to cover a period of parental leave.

This is a rare Australian opportunity for a dedicated and driven individual seeking to further their career in international human rights law.

ICEP recently prepared a report to assist the UN Human Rights Council member states in their consideration of the final stages of the civil war and post-conflict accountability and justice. Building on this work, the role will identify, develop and conduct investigative, policy and research work.

This challenging and rewarding position requires high-level strategic legal and policy analysis skills, experience in international criminal, humanitarian or human rights law and strong project management skills.
