How to find the best electricity deal in your area

Following the NSW Government’s decision to deregulate NSW retail electricity prices, the government has launched a new campaign to help consumers find the best electricity deal they can.

Customers who were on the regulated contract on 1 July 2014 were automatically moved to a ‘transitional tariff’. For most households this is slightly (1.5%) lower than the regulated price, but for these customers, switching to a competitive market offer can be much cheaper. In fact, according to a recent St Vincent De Paul Society survey, switching to the best market offer could save up to $460 per year.
