This article examines the alarmingly high over-represenation of Indigenous juveniles in the criminal justice system, and suggests that changes in both policy (the attitudes of police) and law reform (changes to the imposition and monitoring of bail conditions), as well as the NSW government actively working with police, courts and Indigenous communities to change the modes of interaction that have led to this problem.
