Comments on the Ten-Year Roadmap for National Mental Health Reform Alternative formats available on request to PIAC - Contact PIAC
In January 2012, the Federal Government released the draft Ten-Year Roadmap for National Mental Health Reform. The Roadmap details a commitment by governments to a long-term national reform plan for mental health to guide future action and investment across Australia for the next ten years.
This Submission is in response to NSW Government’s request for input into its submission to the Roadmap. PIAC calls on the Roadmap to be amended to incorporate specific and evidence-based measures to reduce the high rates of mental illness in Australia. It also recommends the Roadmap develop strategies to respond to the high rates of mental illness in groups such as prisoners and people experiencing homelessness.
