PIAC is offering a one-day training course on 20 March 2012 to help participants plan and implement an effective advocacy campaign.
The course, called Introduction to Advocacy and Campaigning, covers:
- How government works
- How to advocate for your issues with government
- Working with politicians
- Legal strategies in advocacy
Participants will learn how to obtain and analyse information about the needs of clients and issues of concern; and work with clients, communities and stakeholders to address identified needs.
Participants will also learn how to advocate for client issues within formal decision-making structures, and represent the interests of the community in government decision-making forums.
Other PIAC training courses offered this year include Negotiation Skills for Advocates on 29 March 2012, and Tenancy Law for Non-Lawyers on 7 May 2012.
PIAC is a Registered Training Organisation under the Australian Quality Training Framework.
Details about these courses and other PIAC training opportunities are available on the PIAC Training page of this website.
