Protecting Human Rights for the Disability Sector and Effective Advocacy Skills and Strategies are just two of the advocacy training workshops on offer in the current PIAC Training Calendar.
The calendar covers the six months from January to June 2011 and is available online.
Other courses on offer include Introduction to Advocacy and Campaigning, Advanced Media Skills Training and Law for Non-Lawyers.
The one-day Advanced Media Skills workshop on 23 May 2011 equips participants with the skills needed to successfully work with broadcast and print media.
Tenancy Law for Non-Lawyers, on 30 May 2011, is a one-day introduction to the laws that affect tenants. It is designed for community workers who assist or advocate for clients about housing issues.
PIAC training can be customised to meet an organisation’s needs.
