It can and should be otherwise: slow down passage of Anti-Terrorism Bill

Today, the Public Interest Advocacy Centre, called on Federal Parliamentarians to slow the passage of the Anti-Terrorism Bill 2005.

Ms Robin Banks, Chief Executive Officer of PIAC said:

There is no good reason why this law should be in place before Christmas that the Prime Minister or the Attorney-General has been able to articulate to date. When will the Prime Minister and the Attorney-General come clean with the Australian public and set out cogent and detailed explanations about what they claim to be protecting us from?
